A cat café is basically a place where food and drinks are served and you can enjoy the company of cats. Clients cover an entry fee for a period of time and is destined 100% to cover the cat’s expenses.
Catfetin cat café has two areas: the first is our cat themed café and the second area is our Zona Michi (cat lounge). In Zona Michi you have to follow our Rules, you can find board games, books, cat coloring pages to enjoy the best cat-therapy with the company of the rescued cats.
What is Zona Michi?
Zona Michi is our cat lounge, a sustainable cat rescue organization, we host the kitties until we can fin furever homes for them.
Is there an age restriction to go to the Zona Michi?
The minimum age required is 8 years old.
Children between 8 and 12 years old must be in the company of a parent or legal guardian.
People under 18 years old who attend without any parent or legal guardian must bring a signed Waiver Form by them and an image of their personal ID.
How much is the fee for the Zona Michi and where does the money go?

The fee allows us to remain sustainable, is destined to cover the expenses of our Michi Zone, including food, medical care and supplies of the rescues that we support.

Reservations are not needed since we take daily walk ins, but we highly recommend them, specially on weekends. Our capacity is 15 people and we don’t want you to miss out on the cats.

Our cats come from different local rescuers, we work directly with the community.
How do adoptions work?
You must visit the cats and make a connection with one, or two. We will have an interview to make sure you are willing to make a life-long commitment to a furry child, you must meet certain requirements, among them to be at least 25 years, catify your home and keep the cat 100% indoor.
If your adoption is approved, you must fill out an Online Adoption Form and cover s/.60 Nuevos Soles (cost of the spay / neuter procedure). For kittens under 5 months old, you must attach the Mandatory Spay / Neuter Commitment too.

Can I drop rescued cats at the café?
No, we are not an animal shelter and we are not prepared to take in additional cats (as much as we would love to!).
All the rescued cats are placed in foster homes during their rehabilitation process like viral treatments, tests and vaccinations. They have to follow our Cat Protocol and be declared clinically healthy before they join Zona Michi.
Can I bring my cat with me to the Zona Michi?
No, Zona Michi is not pet - friendly. Bringing your cat would stress our resident cats and yours, even if he is very friendly, cats are very territorial!
The idea of our Cat Cafés is to make you spend quality time with the rescued cats and to promote their adoptions.
Do the cats have access to the café or preparation area?
No, the cats are in a completely separate area with an independent entrance next to the café. We follow the sanitary regulations required by the municipality, there is no contact between cats and the kitchen or café area.
Can I reserve the Michi lounge for an event?
Yes, you can book Zona Michi for different kinds of events like birthdays, bridal showers, baby showers, corporate reunions, panderos, etc; and for a maximum group up to 15 people.
If you have a large group and want to arrange a reservation contact us: info@catfetin.com.
What is the cat-therapy?
Is a therapy based on the friendly interaction between cats and humans, benefiting our physical and mental health. A purr, the sound vibration produced by cats, stimulates endorphins and the happiness hormone "serotonin". It also helps us eliminate stress, low mood and anxiety, regulates blood pressure and the frequency of our heartbeat.
At Catfetín Cat Café this is a win-win for adoptable michis and cat lovers!
What happens if I am allergic to cats?
Is up to you to go into the cat lounge since we do not provide any medications for allergies. However, you can still enjoy your food or drink in our café while you watch the cats through our big glass window.
